Carl Larsson
Swedish painter and architect Carl Larsson was an artist who lived at the turn of the 20th century and gained great popularity due to his watercolours depicting everyday family life. Reproductions of works by Carl Larsson
Karl Larsson was a painter and architect who lived in Sweden at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. He created oil paintings, watercolors and frescoes decorating the walls of the Stockholm Nationalmuseum.
He gained great popularity thanks to working together with his wife on decorating their home. The couple designed all the interiors and most of the furniture and accessories on their own. Larsson, in turn, made watercolors illustrating the rooms of the house and presented them to the world in the published book "Ett hem", or "At home". Their designs had a huge impact on the formation of the modern Swedish style in architecture and interior design.
Their home, Lilla Hyttnäs, became the inspiration for Ingvar Kaprad, the creator of the world-famous Swedish furniture and accessories store.
Despite his penchant for seemingly light and pleasant subjects, Larsson's most famous work is the painting Midvinterblot, depicting a sacrifice made on the day of the winter solstice. The author himself also considered this painting to be his life's work.
Reproductions of Carl Larsson's works can be hung on the wall of your home thanks to the canvas paintings on bimago shop.
Paintings by Carl Larsson for the wall of the living room, hall or bedroom
Carl Larsson's paintings are largely watercolors depicting scenes from everyday life in a pleasant form and colors. For this reason, they are perfect as wall decorations for the living room, hall or bedroom. Bright, simple accessories in natural colors will match them. Since Karl and his wife Karin are, in a sense, the godparents of the Swedish interior design that is so fashionable today, Larsson's paintings will be a perfect complement to the Scandinavian-style arrangement.
The heroes of many of Larsson's works are children, so these paintings can also decorate a children's room. However, they will look better than among pictures of fairy-tale characters among other well-known children's-themed reproductions, of which there are plenty.
